Jayme and Michelle were both born
and raised in Pueblo, CO. They met as children and became great
friends. In 1995, they were married. In August of 96, they had
their first daughter, Jayden. Three years later they had their
second daughter, Kamryn. They are both such precious gifts from
God.
1996 was also the “Great Awakening” year of their lives. Jayme and Michelle
began selling out to God in radical ways due to this encounter with Jesus
Christ. Their marriage was miraculously saved, and a very long battle with
pornography was won in Jayme’s life. God had stepped into their lives in such a
life changing way that theyno longer desired to resemble that of
their old ways. This meant that they walked, talked, and lived in a different
manner, reflecting outwardly of the change that occurred inwardly.
Jayme,
who felt a calling into ministry since the age of 14 years
old, felt that calling being stirred up again. Michelle, also
has a strong calling in her life. So in 1997 they began to
work in their local church as youth leaders. One year later
they began a college/career group. This was the beginning
of the molding points for Jayme and Michelle towards evangelism.
During this time they had the privilege of discipling many
people including many youth pastors. After taking off a few
months to pray and refocus on their calling, they began a
Gen-x street church under the Rev. Bobby J. Wilson. This ministry
exploded in the streets towards reaching their community for
Christ. The outcome birthed many different avenues of ministry
that are still in effect to this day. While successfully reaching
a number of teenagers, college students, and homeless, they
still had a aching in their hearts for the nations. This feeling
would not leave them, so in December 2001 they resigned from
the staff of Praise Assembly of God, in Pueblo, CO in order
to step into the call of full time evangelism.
Also during this
time of God preparing Jayme and Michelle towards full time
ministry, Jayme received his electrical journeyman’s license,
and graduated a 5 year electrical union apprenticeship program.
After graduation, Jayme began working for his families electrical
business. After working 3 years with this very successful
business, Jayme resigned in order to fulfill God’s call in
their lives.
Jayme is currently Licensed with the Assemblies of God.
Evangelist John and Angela Steele founded this ministry as a voice to the
nations in 2004. This ministry travels across the nations and abroad, preaching
the Good News of Jesus Christ. They believe that there is an
outpouring like never before and that God desires an intimacy with His people,
drawing them closer to Him. They are full of the vision to see God’s people
reclaim what the enemy has stolen.
John grew up in a Christian home, but peer pressure was so great that he got
caught up in living his life to please himself.
Joining the United States Marine Corps, John totally walked away from what he
knew to be true. John served in the Marine Corps from April of 1985 to March 31,
1988. After an Honorable Discharge, John
pursued a career in Law Enforcement. During this time, he met his future wife,
Angela. They were married on May 19, 1990. That day changed their lives forever
as they vowed to live totally sold out for Jesus. Now, they have three children:
Kailee, 14; Bo, 12; Tanner, 5. January 1, 1991 marks the day that John and
Angela received and accepted the call of God into full-time ministry.
Before founding Mercy Seat Northwest John and Angela were youth
pastors for three wonderful churches: Word of Life World Outreach Center in
Lynden, Washington; Light of the Valley in Stevensville, Montana; First Assembly
Life Center in Billings, Montana. While they were youth pastors, they saw the
hand of God move in a powerful way as lives were transformed and hundreds came
to the knowledge of Jesus. People were being disciples and empowered to go win
their cities for Christ. They have seen young people called into full-time
ministry. Known for their zeal for Jesus and desire to see lives impacted, they
sensed the direction of the Lord to travel nationally. The vision of Mercy Seat Northwest is very simple. It is to rescue, restore and revive a
generation for Jesus Christ. They believe in pursuing His Presence with an
undying desire to see His Glory and the fellowship of His people.
The ministry has moved its office, alongside with Pat and Karen Schatzline of
Mercy Seat Ministries, to Birmingham, Alabama. John speaks all across America in
churches for morning, evening, and youth services, camps, conventions, retreats
and even school assemblies. This ministry is dedicated to bringing life wherever
it travels. It believes in doing whatever it takes to see supernatural results!
This is a total faith based ministry. The heart of Pastor John and Angela is to
minister on a love offering basis. The motto of this ministry is “Serving Jesus
and Restoring a Generation”.
